Tidepool (mussels)

There is a whole world of color and life to be found in a tidal pool on the island. In the intertidal zone, where land and sea meet, water collects in depressions in the granite. Here the pool is deep enough to support a small colony of mussels, together with algae, sea lettuce and wrack.
